Ask to spread the word

The Local, the New York Times blog covering Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, is looking for highly motivated local high school students with an interest in journalism to participate in a FREE summer workshop.

The workshop, which will take place over three weekdays in July, will train students in the basics of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. Students will learn to use a variety of media. Lunch will be provided.

After the training session, students will be working with reporters at the Local to report and write about their neighborhood. Topics will include politics, school, sports and everyday life. Some of their work will be published on the blog, at www.nytimes.com/fortgreene.

Students must be entering grades 9 through 12 and must live in Fort Greene or Clinton Hill. Space is extremely limited, so apply now.

For an application or for more information email Fortgreene@nyt.com or call Tamara Best at 718-875-2384.
