Behind every storefront window and inside every apartment building, there are limitless stories that tell the history of a place, and offer lessons on resilience, empathy, and care.

In the past six months, Fort Greene Brooklyn has stayed strong in the face of the pandemic, as a site of racial justice activism, mutual aid, and heroic health care. The residents and businesses have built on long legacies of arts, culture and struggle in the face of gentrification to offer new ways of being a community.

In this program, members of the Future Historical Society will share Fort Greene stories, while reflecting with community partners on how the pandemic and current uprisings protesting racial violence against Black people have altered the course of this corner of Brooklyn.
